Acerca de este título
A Mexican boy's journey to India to heal his brain with a futuristic treatment.
Barbara Anderson narrates with brutal honesty the day-to-day experience of having a child with disabilities: the challenges inside and outside the home, health and life complications, the shifting priorities, the daily Mt. Everest-sized struggle of having a child with an—until now—irreversible diagnosis such as infantile cerebral palsy.
The author details how she embarks on a journey to India with her entire family so that Lucca can be one of the first children to undergo a 28-day treatment regimen, twice in 2017 and once more in 2019, and the amazing results they saw in him: a neurogenesis that starts with the Cytotron, a device created by Indian scientist Rajah Kumar.
Like any good hero's journey, the story doesn't end there: Barbara, who doesn't like to accept "No" for an answer, takes up the fight promoting the use of the Cytotron in Mexico.
This book offers a glimpse into the possibilities that are now opening up for patients with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions as well as other types of diseases such as cancer, viewed from Mexico, the farthest point in the world from Bangalore.
"A harrowing, beautiful, and ultimately hopeful book. 'The Two Hemispheres of Lucca' is proof that perseverance and determination always have their reward, and that the Cytotron will mark a paradigm shift for millions of people worldwide suffering from previously untreatable health problems. A gem of a story." (Michael Rowe, film director)
