Acerca de este título
“Anything is possible for women as we find our voice, honor our identity, work together for a common goal, and stand unapologetically with our arms wide open to the skies in a stance of pride and acknowledgment of the sacredness of the feminine.” (from the preface to the 30th anniversary edition)
The Heroine’s Journey describes contemporary woman’s search for wholeness in a society where she has been defined according to masculine values. Drawing on cultural myths and fairy tales, ancient symbols and goddesses, and the dreams of contemporary women, Murdock illustrates the need for — and the reality of — feminine values in Western culture. This special anniversary edition, with a new foreword by Christine Downing and preface by the author, illuminates that this need is just as relevant today as it was when the book was originally published 30 years ago.

I don’t believe that women have “lost” their strength; rather, I feel we have often forgotten the recognition of our unique power. In trying to replicate masculine energy — which many of us have learned to navigate beautifully — we sometimes lose sight of the profound, timeless strength that flows from the feminine itself.
Reading this felt like being gently guided back to that truth. It’s a beautiful place to begin, or to return to: remembering that women have always been both strong and sacred, in a way that is deeply our own.
