David Ian Davies
Acerca de este título
There, he encounters a strangely attired gentleman who gets his help in carrying a huge vessel filled with liquor to a cavernous hideaway in the mountainside. Inside, a group of equally strange and morose men play ninepins as they quaff the liquor.
After Van Winkle drinks to excess on the sly, he stumbles his way back to the woods and falls into a deep sleep beneath a tree. He awakens to find it is 20 years later - and the American Revolution has occured as he slept!

Rip Van Winkle is American author Washington Irving’s beloved short story written in 1819 about a genial, helpful, and mostly solitary man, who took a 20-hour nap in the Catskills and awoke to slowly realize to his bewilderment that he had slept through the American Revolutionary War and several momentous events in the lives of his family.
In this unabridged audio performance, grandfatherly British narrator David Ian Davies faithfully transports the listener back in time to the quiet mountain village in a newly free country. Fans of Rip Van Winkle should certainly seek out Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow as well.
