James Matthew Barrie’s Peter Pan was first performed as a play in 1904, and has since become one of the most widely performed and adapted children’s stories in the world. It is considered by many to be the only children’s play that is also a great work of literature. Peter Pan’s success is due in part to a fresh means of storytelling that appeals to both adults and children.
