“Monster Zombies Are Coming for Johnny” by A.M. Shah is a thrilling middle-grade horror novel. The story, featuring friends Johnny and Alex, is set amidst a zombie invasion. The author’s vivid descriptions of the grotesque zombies and the boys’ encounters with them are both exciting and chilling. The plot twists, such as the discovery of fire as a weapon and the revelation of the zombie leader’s identity, add intrigue. However, the zombies’ ability to speak somewhat diminishes the horror element. Despite this, the book is a satisfying read for older kids who enjoy a good scare.
