Resumen del editor
They don't play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wisecracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were 18? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley's biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he'll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers but walks away with only more questions - can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it?
When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend...and a big one to learn about himself.
Warning: Contains sexual situations, hotties on hockey skates, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV, and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

Pure love between two people. Acceptance
I loved this story! This is the first (new) romance book that I am listening to on Audible, rather than reading in print or on paperback. I was a bit sceptical if I was going to end up liking it as I felt odd listening to other voices speak and put intonations in places that I probably wouldn't put. However, the story was so engaging that I was completely lost in it.
This is the first book that I am reading by Sarina Bowen but I am familiar with books written by Elle Kennedy so I was confident that I would fall in love with this book.
Ryan Wesley is a confident hockey senior, soon to be professional hockey player. He is not only confident as a player, he is confident as a person and has a close knit group of people that he allows to know some of his secrets. He went through a hard time coming to terms with his sexuality and then learning to navigate collegiate hockey life while being a reserved gay man (not fully closeted but also not fully open). He also does not have a supportive family, both because of his sexuality and because they are distant people who never demonstrated any love for their son.
Jamie Canning is the complete opposite. He has a large family that is supportive and loving. He has an open mentality and is accepting of everyone. While he is straight, he doesn't cringe or shy away from the thought of being attracted to the same sex, as he is attracted to the person, not the gender.
Ryan and Jamie met and became BFF's at hockey camp as teenagers and, in their final year there, Ryan and Jamie had a "sexual experiment". Ryan then pulled away from his friendship for a few years until they finally bumped into each other again. From there, they rekindled their friendship and Ryan confessed his attraction to Jamie, who in turn, did not shy away from his feelings rather than his typical gender label for attraction.
I love how Ryan's concerns for Jamie are explained, how we understand from his perspective the difficulties of being an openly gay public figure in sports, and how rejection for loving the same sex is. I can feel the tension, the fear and the love that Ryan experiences throughout the book when it comes to what he wants in his heart to what he thinks he should have.
Jamie is a go-with-the-flow kind of person. He does live in a bubble with Ryan but when the bubble pops and reality hits them head-on for the relationship, Jamie doesn't hide away or step back. He takes a leap of faith.

The romance you don't want to miss
I've read this duology in physical and fell in love with the story, the characters and the writing. Now I've reread it as an audiobook and it's one of my favorite audiobooks of all time. The narrators are brilliant!
