Homer's precursor to The Odyssey is set during the Trojan War, and this epic narrative tells of the battles and events during this period, such as the quarrel between King Agamemnon and the famous warrior Achilles, the death of Patroclus, and Achilles' revenge on Hector, as well as the involvement of the various gods and goddesses as they try to influence the battle to help their favorites.
